Eleanor Kivi

Hometown: Chicago Heights, Illinois

School: Marian Catholic High School

Born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, Eleanor Kivi is a second generation Mexican-American committed to uplifting her fellow Latinos. She takes pride in her indigenous heritage and her family’s roots in Celaya, Guanajuato. Eleanor takes an active role in both her school and local community as the treasurer and co-vice president of her high school’s Hispanic Student Coalition. She helps to organize cultural celebrations and combat ignorance within her school. The opportunity to participate in CHCI NextGen allowed Eleanor to connect with other up and coming Latino changemakers. Her experience in the program only strengthened her commitment to, and her love for, the Latino community in Illinois and nationwide.
