Nahomy Limon

Congressional Intern, Presented by Walmart

Hometown: Marietta, Georgia

School: Kennesaw State University

Major: International Affairs; Political Science

Placement: Office of Sen. Raphael Warnock

Nahomy Limon was born in Marietta, Georgia, and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, by her two hardworking Mexican immigrant parents. Growing up low-income and witnessing a lack of representation, she embraced her role as the oldest daughter, ultimately becoming the first in her family to graduate from high school and attend college. She deeply values education and is committed to uplifting underrepresented communities.

She is currently pursuing a double major in Political Science and International Affairs at Kennesaw State University (KSU) and plans to attend law school after graduating. Her goal is to become an attorney focused on defending marginalized communities and eventually work in international relations to advance human rights and migration policies.

On campus, Nahomy has served as president of the Association of Latino Professionals for America, a peer leader for the Hispanic/Latino Outreach in Leadership and Academics Program, and more. She also co-founded the KSU Collective of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., a multicultural organization focused on empowering women through service and leadership. Additionally, she has supported peers in securing internships and obtaining professional development resources. In recognition of her dedication to amplifying Latino voices and increasing access to opportunities, she was awarded the Commitment to Inclusion Student Award by her university. She has worked with the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials and interned in Governor Kemp’s Floor Leader’s Office and at Rohan Law, gaining hands-on experience.

Through her CHCI journey, Nahomy hopes to further develop her leadership and policy skills while deepening her understanding of the legislative process. She aims to do so by informing other Latinos about the importance of political involvement and ways they can actively engage.
