Adam Urbina

Adam Urbina is a Mexican American who is also proud of his Irish and German heritage. He attends Pendleton High School in Pendleton, Oregon. He is a member of National Honor Society and ASTRA and is a junior member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. He is also a three-sport athlete, participating in football, wrestling, and track. At a young age, Adam moved from Salem, Oregon to rural eastern Oregon. He has always been interested in STEM and hopes to go on and get a four-year degree in either the medical or engineering field. Being accepted to CHCI NextGen is extremely important to Adam after seeing racial disparities in policing and lawmaking with regards to immigrant and Latino groups. He is excited to engage with policymaking and learn how he can better serve his rural Latino community.
