Beyond his professional work, Diego is deeply committed to uplifting Latino staffers and fostering professional development on Capitol Hill. He was recently elected Treasurer of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA), where he has worked to improve budgeting processes and strengthen community events. He also serves as Digital Director for the Congressional Progressive Staff Association (CPSA), spearheading digital outreach and engagement strategies.
Diego currently serves in a congressional office where he supports communications and legislative priorities. He previously worked for the Texas Democratic Party and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, where he researched Latinofuturism and its impact on American space policy. Outside work, he enjoys playing chess, 3D printing, cooking, powerlifting, and spending time with his cat best friend, Giovanni. He is an avid reader with an enduring curiosity for history, technology, economics, and political theory.
Diego is excited to participate in the CHCI Latino Hill Staff Academy and looks forward to gaining new skills, building community, and helping advance Latino representation in Congress.
