Jaslene Avila Bustamante

Hometown: Colorado Springs, Colorado
School: Harrison High School
Jaslene Avila Bustamante, from Colorado Springs, is the oldest of three siblings. Her greatest inspiration is her parents, who always support and encourage their children to keep moving forward and to fight for their dreams and goals. With strong Mexican roots, Jaslene is deeply connected to issues affecting Hispanic and Latina communities. She actively seeks ways to be involved in topics that impact her community. After meeting with Senator Bennett, her interest in politics and community service grew even stronger. Through CHCI NextGen, Jaslene learned more about the history of those who have shaped and continue to give a voice to her community. It also sparked a deeper interest in continuing her efforts to make a positive impact wherever she can.
