Hometown: Huntington Park, California

School: Theodore Roosevelt High School

Melannie Santillan is a hard-working high school sophomore at Roosevelt High School’s Law & Public Service Magnet. She is involved in her school’s mock trial team and has a mentorship with a lawyer from nearby the area. She is currently the head captain of the RHS Color Guard team, working hard to support everyone with any of their needs and working with the leadership club in her school. Though the roads have been rocky throughout her life, Melannie has managed to push forward and overcome obstacles thrown at her. Through both educational and personal experiences, she has gained a big passion for criminal justice and family law. She applied to CHCI NextGen to learn, meet, and connect with all leaders who have built themselves up and those who also aspire to become leaders in their futures. Melannie’s goal is to go to her dream college and make this wish come true.
