Melenny Andrade is a junior at Los Amigos High School. She comes from a hardworking and dedicated family of Mexican immigrants, whose values have shaped her perseverance and pride in her cultural identity. Melenny has taken on leadership roles in sports teams, school clubs, and—perhaps most importantly—in her personal growth, consistently demonstrating ambition and commitment in everything she does. As a participant of CHCI NextGen, she looks forward to using her skills to connect with peers, learn from new experiences, and ultimately give back to her community. Melenny’s biggest motivation for applying to this program was her desire to become an inspiration and role model to others—proving that no matter where you come from or what you start with, you can always grow, lead, and make a difference in your community.
