Suzette Hernandez is a proud first-generation Mexican American from Dallas, Texas whose passion for policy and advocacy is rooted in lived experience. She leads her school’s Student Voter Empowerment Club, where she organizes nonpartisan voter registration drives and fosters political awareness among youth. As president of her school’s Youth and Government Mock Trial team, Suzette has earned top placements at district and state competitions, while also mentoring new students as a Link Crew leader. She also serves on the Dallas Youth Commission, where she contributes to the Youth Democracy Committee, helping plan civic engagement events and voter outreach initiatives across the city. Suzette applied to CHCI NextGen to grow as a changemaker, experience policymaking firsthand, and continue empowering others through civic engagement and leadership.
