Members of Congress Join Experts in "Latinos Leading" Summit Series

CHCI's 2009 Public Policy Conference will feature the "Latinos Leading" Summit Series, with policy sessions led by Members of Congress on September 14-15, 2009. National policy experts and top leaders will join Members of Congress to discuss key issues currently facing the Latino community, including challenges in rural America, healthcare reform, the new economy, early childhood education, corporate America, technology, international relations, the homeownership crisis, and mental health.
Summits will also feature key national leaders, including two experts from the United States Department of Agriculture: Judith Canales, Administrator for Business and Cooperative Programs, and Tammye Treviño, Administrator for the Rural Housing Service, Housing and Community Facilities Programs National Office; Nancy Ann DeParle, Director of the White House Office of Health Reform; Julius Genachowski, Chairman, Federal Communications Commission; Kathi Grasso, Senior Juvenile Justice Policy and Legal Advisor, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, United States Department of Justice; and John Trasvina, Assistant Secretary Office of Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
