On Monday, May 4, at the Courses at Andrews Air Force Base, CHCI supporters braved the rainy weather to participate in CHCI's 13th Annual Fiesta de Golf Scholarship Challenge with Chi Chi Rodriguez, presented by Toyota. Armed with umbrellas and additional rain gear, golfers adapted their game strategy to play in a nine-hole competition.

Hall of Fame golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez, present thanks to Toyota, kicked off the event and offered putting tips and photo opportunities out on the course.

Several Members of Congress and the Honorable Jorge Dezcallar, Ambassador of Spain to the U.S. joined the festivities, which included a putting contest, raffle, and for the first time, a silent auction, all benefiting Latino youth scholarships.

Renowned chef and restaurateur Jose Andrés also attended after hosting a pre-tournament dinner with Chi Chi Rodriguez at his Oyamel Restaurant on Sunday night. Named one of the best new restaurants of 2007 by Esquire magazine, Oyamel Cocina Mexicana's small plates are inspired by antojitos and tacos, the classic street food of Mexico. Oyamel is the only restaurant in Washington to be awarded the Agave De Oro, the highest "Distintivo T" certification by the Tequila Regulatory Council of Mexico. The restaurant is part of Chef José Andrés' and Rob Wilder's THINKfoodGROUP, and is located at: 401 7th Street NW in Washington, DC.
