On October 7, 2015 in Washington D.C., CHCI and Vanguard Consulting presented an exclusive training on persuasive storytelling for CHCI Alumni to kick off the CHCI Virtual Leadership Institute as part of the 2015 CHCI Public Policy Conference.
Alumni learned best practices in motivational public speaking and how to utilize their personal stories to help deliver empowering messages to a variety of audiences.

On October 6, 2015, CHCI and CHCI Alumni Association (CHCI-AA), in partnership with the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA), hosted a special reception honoring Congressional Chiefs of Staff who have demonstrated their commitment to promoting diversity on Capitol Hill.
The honorees, Angela Ramirez, Chief of Staff, Office of Congressman Ben Ray Lujan, and Steve Haro, former Chief of Staff, Office of Senator Martin Heinrich, played a pivotal role in ensuring that young Latinos are hired, offered opportunities to grow, and advance professionally during their tenures.

On Tuesday, October 6, CHCI and CHCI Alumni Association presented the inaugural Professional Leadership Track at our 2015 CHCI Public Policy Conference. This program, led by CHCI Alumni Librada Estrada and Ana Polanco, was aimed to empower leaders at all levels and across all sectors, and participants learned crucial skills in the areas of Emotional Intelligence and Strategic Negotiation.

On September 15, CHCI and the CHCI Alumni Association kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with a Latino leadership networking reception in Downtown Manhattan. Over 60 CHCI Alumni and local Latino professionals gathered to discuss the importance of Latino leadership and the continued need for diversity in the public and private sectors.

On April 29, CHCI proudly celebrated the Spring 2015 Joint Graduation Ceremony and New Alumni Networking Reception, honoring the 2014-15 CHCI Graduate Fellows (GFP), Public Policy Fellows (PPF), and the 2015 CHCI Spring Congressional Interns (CIP). This year, a total of 40 future Latino leaders were treated to a wonderful ceremony held at the U.S. Library of Congress, to celebrate the completion of their respective program and their inclusion into the prestigious CHCI Alumni Association.
