CHCI's Graduate Fellows Hosted The 2013 Young Latino Leadership Summit Series on April 15 on Capitol Hill

Each year, CHCI Graduate Fellows engage in a public policy research project that culminates in the Young Latino Leaders Summit Series.  During the Summit Series, each fellow organizes and moderates a public policy roundtable discussion on insightful and timely issues affecting the Latino community and the nation. CHCI Fellows select a topic from their specific areas of focus—education, health, housing, law, or STEM. These discussions are held on Capitol Hill, where members of Congress, Congressional staffers, public policy experts, national leaders and other changemakers are invited to attend.  Here is some press coverage from the Summits:

CHCI's Education Forum and Ready to Lead Program Take Over Miami

CHCI held a Ready to Lead college prep workshop and its Partnerships for Latino Education Attainment Success Forum in conjunction with NBC News' Education Nation in Miami on May 19-21.  Celebrities Wilmer Valderrama, Tony Plana, and Maffio, Rep. Pedro Pierluisi and many other experts and CHCI alumni joined the activities.  Telemundo featured CHCI President Esther Aguilera, Pierluisi, Plana and Valderrama on its nationally distributed talk show Enfoque, hosted by Jose Diaz-Balart.
