CHCI Graduates Fall 2012 Congressional Interns
The Fall 2012 Congressional Interns celebrated the end of their CHCI experience with an intimate farewell luncheon with their sponsor, Walmart, and supervisors from their congressional placements on November 14, 2012. The event was held at the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center and the guests heard words of advice and encouragement from Walmart Representative Jason Hill, Director, Federal Government Relations, and from keynote speaker CHCI Chair Rep. Charles A. Gonzalez.. Class speaker, Denisse Coronado from Houston, TX, shared the highlights of her internship class and presented Esther Aguilera, CHCI President & CEO, with their class gift of $2,000. The funds will help sponsor a high school student to participate in CHCI’s 2013 High School Latino Leaders Program this summer in Washington, DC. As Denisse stated “We have had such an amazing time and transformed into stronger leaders as CHCI Interns and we wanted to give back to this hard working organization by providing another student with an unforgettable opportunity.” CHCI wishes the best of luck to the Fall 2012 Alums in their future endeavors!
