A Special Message from Chairman Hinojosa
A Special Message from CHCI Chairman, Congressman Rubén Hinojosa:
CHCI Chairman, Rep. Rubén Hinojosa, shares a very special message to all supporters and program participants, highlighting the remarkable growth of CHCI and his plan for a prosperous 2014.
I am very proud to say that 2013 was one of the most successful years in CHCI's history. From raising record level revenues, increasing our programs' impact across the board, and embarking on a comprehensive campaign to develop CHCI's 21st Century Leadership Development Center, we have made significant progress in moving the organization forward. I want to personally thank Anheuser-Busch, Bank of America, Dell, PepsiCo, State Farm, and Toyota for their vision and commitment to Latino leaders and helping us raise more than $9 million. CHCI appreciates your unwavering commitment as we embark on our campaign, Building Our Future, Together.
I also want to thank all of you who have invested your funds, time and efforts to make CHCI the nation's top organization developing America's future leaders. Your active participation throughout the year sends a clear message that it takes leaders to move America forward. Leaders like you give true meaning to our call - to celebrate our successes and showcase our extraordinary Latino leaders, to voice how important it is to invest in our Latino youth’s potential, and to continue to work on what is left to be done so that America moves forward.
With all the success of 2013, I look forward to an even stronger 2014. As Chair, I will continue to focus on meeting our financial goals to keep up with the rising demands for our award-winning programs. I also envision a year where we focus on the future workforce of America, the equalizing factor – education, and the key sectors that will be generating employment opportunities in the 21st century: STEM including, allied health, IT, and energy. I look forward to working with all of you to highlight these key areas that will provide essential opportunities for Latinos to take leadership roles.
I ask that you also mark your calendar for CHCI’s 2014 37th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month events scheduled for September 29 – October 2 in Washington, D.C. We look forward to having you with us again next year!
We sincerely thank you for supporting CHCI, its programmatic mission, and our goal to elevate the image of and celebrate Latinos in this country. See you soon!
