Alvaro Perpuly serves as the Press Secretary and Speechwriter for Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (FL-24) in South Florida. Alvaro was born and raised in Miami, Florida, in a family of Mexican immigrants, and attended Yale University. His journey in politics began in Miami-Dade, where he served as the Community and Outreach Organizer for Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s 2020 campaign. Since then, he has held various communication roles in local, state, and congressional campaigns, as well as with organizations such as Freedom House and media outlets like Univision. Alvaro has a passion for engaging with the press and loves talking about foreign affairs and the state of democracy. Outside of work, he enjoys boxing, running, cooking, and exploring DC.
