Alyssa M. Trujillo was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico in a Hispanic family. Alyssa is a junior at the University of New Mexico earning her degree in political science. Her professional aspiration to become an attorney is fueled by her love for law and the endless support from her family. After witnessing the sacrifices her parents made to assure that she and her sisters received a quality education, Alyssa learned the values of hard work and humility.

Alyssa’s passion for estate planning, probate and fiduciary litigation stems from a family dispute regarding the administration of her grandparents living trust. Growing up, she witnessed the affect money and land can have on the family unit. Having had the privilege of working for a local trust company and an entirely female law firm, Alyssa has gained insight into the importance of campaign fundraising and finance reform in our current political system. In the future, she hopes to use the U.S. judicial system to fight for the rights of veterans, seniors, clean air, clean water and providing job opportunities for immigrants.

As a CHCI Intern, Alyssa is focused on strengthening her leadership skills, expanding her professional network, and learning all aspects of public policy at the federal level. She hopes to utilize the knowledge obtained as a CHCI intern in order to enhance her emerging professional career. Upon acquiring her undergraduate degree, Alyssa aspires to expand her education with both an MBA and a JD.
