Ana Priscila Garcia was raised by immigrant parents from Mexico and El Salvador.. Growing up, she witnessed the social and financial struggles of the hispanic community. Priscila is currently a sophomore at the University of Southern California studying Health & Human Sciences, Non-Governmental Organizations & Social Change, and Education & Society.
Priscila’s involvement with USC’s Kinder 2 College, Readers Plus, and Students for Education Reform, have exposed her to the harsh realities of our public education system. Seeing the inequities within the school system, historically targeted at low-income and colored communities, has sparked a passion for education reform and advocacy for student’s rights.
Priscila aspires to be an elementary school teacher who nurtures courage in students to pursue a higher education. She is also determined to work in the field of education policy.
As a CHCI intern, Priscila hopes to strengthen the skills necessary to continue leading in her community, gain more knowledge about the legislative process to better advocate for the causes she is passionate about, and network with other Latino leaders.
