Aneyssa Romo is a proud Chicana from Phoenix, AZ. Aneyssa grew up in the community of Tolleson, AZ. In high school, Aneyssa was elected to serve on the Tolleson Teen Council Program, a program that sparked her interest in public service. Aneyssa is a board member of the Tolleson Community Coalition, a nonprofit organization committed to the betterment of the community of Tolleson.

Aneyssa is a first-generation student at Arizona State University studying Public Service and Public Policy. At ASU, Aneyssa served as a Program Assistant at the Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Institute as a high school and college student mentor. Aneyssa also coordinated and led their week-long summer leadership institute for high school students. During the 2017-2018 school year, she worked with the ASU First-Year Success Center as a First-Year Success Coach, assisting first-generation and low-income college students in navigating their freshman and sophomore years.

Through her experiences and roots, Aneyssa has found her passion for public service and community development. As a CHCI intern, Aneyssa aims to use her passion to shape her experiences and further develop the skills and knowledge to better serve her community. In the future, Aneyssa hopes to become a city manager and create strong communities throughout Arizona.
