Arely Ramirez Diaz is attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she studies Political Science.
The biggest adversity she has had to face was adapting to a different country and culture when her family moved to the United States. That experience taught her perseverance and motivation at a young age. Her parents were only able to complete a sixth-grade education and their personal sacrifices were made to ensure her and her siblings’ success.
She hopes to pursue a law degree with the ultimate career goal of becoming a Member of Congress. Being in elected office would allow her the opportunity to shape public policy and impact communities across the United States.
Arely has had the privilege to work in local law firms and the District Attorney’s Office. Now as a CHCI intern, she hopes to gain insight on how offices effectively communicate with/address constituent concerns and to learn more about bipartisanship when considering new legislation. She looks to be equipped with the tools necessary to be an effective leader.
