Bianca Chavez’s family originated in Mexico. Bianca and her two older siblings were raised by her mother in Washington State amidst domestic violence. This was a decade of chaos for Bianca and her family but regardless of the hardships, Bianca was the first in her family to graduate high school and attend a four-year institution. She is now a rising sophomore at Washington State University majoring in human development. Bianca has refused to allow any obstacles to prevent her from accomplishing her goals.
As a CHCI and HEP CAMP Intern, Bianca Chavez is looking forward to working with other advocates and expanding her problem solving skills and personal relationships. Bianca hopes to gain experience in political and community leadership and one day aspires to be a leader for in the Latin/x community and other minority groups.
