Jessica Villalobos is a first generation Mexican-American raised in Austin, Texas. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Studies at Texas State University. The proud daughter of two Mexican immigrants, Jessica is the first in her family to attend a four-year university and values the critical sacrifices her parents have made for her to have the opportunity for a better life. Jessica has faced difficult hardships that have molded her into the resilient person she is today. She thanks her family, friends, and overall caring community for the support they have provided to her.

As a survivor of sexual assault, Jessica is committed to providing vital resources to survivors as herself. Jessica is dedicated to advancing the rights of women in different areas. She is passionate about reproductive justice and serving underrepresented communities, specifically young women of color. Previously, Jessica worked as an Outreach Intern for Jane’s Due Process, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free legal representation to pregnant minors in Texas. She currently works as a student intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division.

As a CHCI Intern, Jessica hopes to gain valuable knowledge about the legislative process in order to serve her community. In the future, Jessica hopes to attend law school to continue her work in the field of reproductive justice and provide vital resources to the most marginalized communities.
