Placement: The Office of Rep. Raul Grijalva

Karla Magaña was born in the small town of Rexburg, Idaho. Karla and her family have encountered the struggles of physical labor and low wages. Yet, she’s utilized her parents’ daily struggles as motivation and passion in her pursuit of higher education.

Karla is currently enrolled at Boise State University and double majoring in Political Science and Communications. Every trial and tribulation Karla’s family has endured pushed her to achieve what society tells her she cannot achieve. She yearns for every opportunity in her pursuit of education and will continually strive to create better days for her family and community. Her goals are what keeps her rooted each day.

As a CHCI and CAMP intern, Karla aspires to absorb the knowledge she gains and share it with her community. She will achieve this by maximizing her experience and applying the knowledge she gains empirically. Karla wants to create change for the Latinx community.
