1. What field of study do you intend to pursue if you receive the CHCI Scholarship?

In intermediate school, my love for the sciences truly set sail when I competed in the science fair and placed. When I entered Toms River High School North, I took a myriad of different courses, ranging from AP chemistry to honors geography. With the help and success in all of the institutions and courses, my career path had been successfully paved.

Aside from my educational attainments, I have many goals and aspirations. My current goal is to become a doctor of physical therapy and be admitted into the Physical Therapy Program at my school. I am currently a student at Montclair State University and will be applying for the highly competitive physical therapy program that works in conjunction with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. I will be in this program for six years and at the end will have earned my doctorate degree. With this degree, I intend on working either in a hospital’s rehabilitation center or in a private practice.

2. How Has the Scholarship Changed Your Life?

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), has assisted me in achieving my higher educational goals in many ways. Thanks to CHCI, I have been able to fulfill my dreams of earning a higher degree of education. CHCI has enlightened me to pursue my goals; with great determination and persistence, any dream is possible.

Hard work is the key to a successful future, with the help of CHCI, I have been able to excel in all of my classes and school work. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute has paved the way for me to become a successful physical therapist in the future.
