Oscar Burgos Pimentel is a first-generation student who moved to the United States to start a new life at 15 years old. Oscar comes from a working-class family who originates from the city of Santiago De Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. He is a Senior studying International Politics at Fitchburg State University in North Central Massachusetts. Oscar is a resident assistant at the university, a Student Government senator, and a member of the university’s Financial Committee. Additionally, Oscar has worked with the Upward Bound program branch of Lawrence, Massachusetts, which is where he was motivated to pursue higher education as a teen. Oscar’s goal is to be a diplomat.
As a CHCI Intern, he hopes to learn from first-hand experience the fundamental skills that distinguish a great advocate and public servant.
