CHCI Alumni Association 2018 Annual Retreat

On April 13 – 14, CHCI Alumni Association (CHCI-AA) leaders from across the United States convened in Washington, D.C., for their leadership development annual retreat where they discussed and planned the much anticipated 20th anniversary of CHCI-AA.
The opening reception featured welcoming remarks from CHCI CEO, Domenika Lynch and an introduction of CHCI Alumnus, and YWCA-USA CEO, Alejandra Castillo. Alejandra shared words of inspiration to the group and closed with a call to serve both CHCI and the greater Latino community at large.
Domenika shared a powerful message to open Saturday’s retreat, encouraging CHCI Alumni Leaders to continue their leadership journey by working to support and champion the Latino community. CHCI-AA National President, Amilcar Guzman also shared the latest vision and plan to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the CHCI-AA.
CHCI staff conducted training sessions for our chapter leaders with the goal of galvanizing our regional leaders to create sustainable strategies that will grow the alumni association and continue to forge new leadership opportunities.
With the mission to strengthen CHCI’s regional footprint, CHCI Alumnus and Policy Analyst for the Department of Justice, Dr. Naomi Adaniya, led a professional development breakout session on building and evolving CHCI Alumni Chapter boards.
The CHCI-AA 2018 Annual Retreat helped celebrate our CHCI Alumni who are ready to lead and build tomorrow’s future. Events to mobilize, train and empower our Alumni are only made possible through the help of our partners. Special thanks to the Human Rights Campaign for hosting us and to our sponsors Southwest Airlines & State Farm for their continued support.
