CHCI Gives Thanks

Dear friend,

As the leaves change color and the temperature drops, I am reminded that one of my favorite holidays is fast approaching – Thanksgiving. This has been an eventful and yet, challenging year for many.  As we gather with our families and loved ones this Thanksgiving, let us give thanks for all the good in our lives and pray for those who need healing and hope, now more than ever.

Over the last 40 years, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) has transformed lives by shifting young Latinos paradigms – bringing them to our nation’s Capital to break barriers and actualize their dreams.  Each year with your help, CHCI has worked tirelessly to mentor, guide, and support our interns and fellows ensuring they fulfill their potential.  Today, we have nearly 3,600 successful alumni.

I am beyond proud of our team, our volunteers and our leadership. This year we have:

• Strengthened partnerships with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, Hispanic Scholarship Fund and Great Minds in STEM to impact thousands more Latino students
• Raised more than $4.2 million during Hispanic Heritage Month
• Convened 2,500 attendees in D.C. over our three-day Hispanic Heritage Month celebration to engage in meaningful discourse on topics ranging from social activism, diversity, leadership, legacy and innovation across all industries

Your friendship and investment enables the above and so much more. I know the work we do together makes a difference and positively impacts thousands of young people who are, and will continue to advance our community. With a joyful heart, we thank you!
