CHCI Graduates 22 Next Generation Latino Leaders

On November 3, CHCI celebrated the 2015 Fall Congressional Internship Program Graduation Ceremony and New Alumni Reception, honoring the 22 future Latino leaders of the 2015 CHCI Fall Congressional Internship Program (CIP). Seven Members of Congress attended the ceremony at the Rayburn House Office Building in support of their respective interns, including: Reps. Alma Adams, Pete Aguilar, Tony Cárdenas, Jim Costa, Michelle Lujan Grisham, Alan Lowenthal and Mark Veasey.

After inspirational remarks by our special guests, CHCI Vice President of Programs William Gil inducted the interns as new members of the CHCI Alumni Association, now 3,311 strong across the nation. The graduation program came to a close with remarks by CHCI Intern Alfredo Jesus Barcenas, who delivered an emotional speech on behalf of the graduating class on what it means to be a leader for his community and his experience in Washington, D.C.

It has been an honor for CHCI to host such a talented group of aspiring leaders. With each graduating class, we advance the dreams of the young people we serve and ensure that we continue to educate, empower and connect the next generation of Latino leaders.
