CHCI Hosts Capitol Hill Briefing on Predictive Analytics in Higher Education

On June 21st, The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute held an exclusive Capitol Hill Policy Briefing that explored the use of predictive analytics in higher education to increase student success, boost retention rates, and allocate resources efficiently.

The briefing was sponsored by Lumina Foundation. The topic of predictive analytics aligns with Lumina Foundation’s interest in disruptive innovations helping to design and build a 21st century education system, as well as with CHCI’s efforts to educate and empower young Latinos to success in the workforce and be the next generation of American leaders.

The briefing was moderated by Deborah A. Santiago, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President for Policy, Excelencia in Education. Featured keynote speakers included Member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, Rep. Raul M. Grijalva; Strategy Officer of Lumina Foundation, David Croom; and President and CEO of CHCI, Domenika Lynch.

Among the panelists that participated in the briefing were Michelle Marks, Vice President for Academic Innovation and New Ventures at George Mason University; Iris Palmer, Senior Policy Analyst at New America; and Katherine Valle, Policy Advisor for the U.S House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
