Congratulations to CHCI Board Member Rudy Beserra on His New Role as Chairman of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) congratulates Board Member and longtime CHCI patron Rudy Beserra on his new role as the 42nd Chairman of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce! Rudy Beserra has formed an integral part of CHCI’s history since it was founded in 1978 and we are excited to see his energy and commitment as he leads the Albuquerque Hispanic business community.
Rudy first became involved with CHCI while serving as State Director for LNESC (LULAC National Educational Service Centers, Inc.) in New Mexico. We caught up with Mr. Beserra recently and asked him a few questions about his history with CHCI.

What has been your fondest memory of CHCI?
One of my fondest memories with the institute took place when Congressman Edward Roybal was retiring; I coordinated production of a commemorative bottle. When presented to Congressman Roybal, I pointed out it was his picture on the bottle – to which the Congressman replied, “Me? I thought that was the CEO of Coca-Cola!”
How does CHCI prepare young Latinos and Latinas to be the leaders of tomorrow?
CHCI’s Internship and Fellowship programs are second to none – the experience and relationships these programs provide are unparalleled for tomorrow’s Latino and Latina leaders.

What is the most rewarding part about serving on the board?
The caliber of the people I get to work with, from members, to staff, to the Board, to advisors – everyone involved in CHCI brings an expertise and perspective that contributes to the overall tapestry of this amazing organization.
CHCI is honored to have someone of Rudy’s distinction in our Board of Directors, and looks forward to many more years of excellence.
