We convened nearly 200 cross sector leaders\, including Members of Congress\, other public officials\, corporate executives\, industry experts\, and community advocates for insightful\, solution-oriented discussions on health and healthcare. \n\n\n\nAttendees engaged in conversations focused on the urgent health challenges that lie before before the Latino community and our nation. \n\n\n\nThe morning began with a networking breakfast\, giving attendees an opportunity to connect across the CHCI network. After remarks from CHCI Chair Rep. Darren Soto\, the opening “Leadership Dialogue\,” featuring Chairman Pete Aguilar and CHCI President and CEO Marco Davis\, discussed the evolving healthcare landscape\, challenges and opportunities faced by Latino lawmakers\, and shared leadership insights to inspire the next generation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn the morning breakout session\, “Strengthening Community Healthcare: Building Resilience and Access in Communities\,” panelists explored ways to improve healthcare delivery at the community level\, particularly in underserved and rural areas with limited healthcare infrastructure. The session included special remarks from Rep. Nellie Pou (NJ-09) and Rep. Andrea Salinas (OR-06). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt “Tackling Chronic Diseases: Prevention\, Treatment\, and Policy Solutions\,” panelists addressed the growing burden of chronic diseases such as heart disease\, diabetes\, hypertension\, obesity\, kidney disease\, cancer\, and respiratory illnesses\, and ways to address them. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn another morning breakout session\, attendees discussed “Environmental and Occupational Health: Protecting Latino Communities from Climate and Workplace Hazards.” Panelists focused on the unique environmental and occupational health risks that Latino communities experience\, with an emphasis on how these challenges intersect with climate change and workplace conditions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFollowing a networking lunch\, attendees enjoyed a special session titled “Latino Leadership & Health Policy: A Fireside Chat\,” featuring CHCI Chair Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09) and Rep. Raul Ruiz (CA-25). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfternoon breakout sessions included “Latina Health: The Power of Preventive Care for Early Intervention\,” “Balancing Drug Affordability and Innovation: Ensuring Access While Advancing Research\,” which was joined by Rep. Emily Randall (WA-06)\, and “Advancing Latina Health in Cardiovascular\, Kidney Disease\, and Stroke Care and Prevention.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe day concluded with closing remarks from Rep. Pablo Jose Hernandez (PR) and CHCI President and CEO Marco A.
