As a Federal Lobbyist for the National Education Association (NEA), Corey Williams works on behalf of its three million members and 50 million students in their classrooms advancing equitable access to education by leading federal legislative work on technology, education funding, and immigration issues, among others. She also co-chairs the Education & Libraries Networks Coalition (EdLiNC) coalition to ensure the FCC’s E-rate Program continues to assist schools and public libraries with ongoing broadband connectivity. Before joining the NEA in 2013, Corey lobbied on behalf of the American Library Association focusing on issues of equity and access to information. Her professional background also includes many years spent working in higher education – including as Chief of Staff to the President of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), and as an academic librarian.
