Sally Kolenda is the external affairs director for BP America, where she manages national advocacy efforts with think tanks, trade associations, legislative caucuses and community partners. Contrary to what her parents believe, she is not a lobbyist.
A self-professed volunteer junkie, Sally sits on advisory boards for the Women’s Global Leadership Conference in Energy, the Rise School of Houston, the Asociación de Líderes Hispanos, and is vice president of her condo association. In her free time, she sings gospel music, and leads Work is Worship, a Bible study for public affairs professionals. For the past decade, she has served alongside her family as the team interpreter for medical mission trips to Guatemala.
Sally is an avid foodie but a terrible competitive eater. She has couchsurfed in 30 countries and was once interviewed by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
Sally received her B.S. in Industrial Distribution and B.A. in Spanish from Texas A&M University, and a diploma in Estudios Hispánicos from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She resides in Washington, D.C., with her dog, Miss Chloe International.
