Sergio Vera is a Senior Vice President at LPL Financial where he leads the Third Party Risk Management & Due Diligence, Identity Access Management, and the Data Loss Prevention compliance programs.
Sergio has extensive experience in leadership roles related to operational risk and technology. Previous to his current role at LPL Financial, Sergio served as a Third Party Risk Management leader at Prudential Financial, where he was responsible for implementing a third party risk management program. Prior to that, he was head of the Business Continuity Program at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Sergio received a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Management and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Sergio is originally from Lima, Peru and immigrated to the US at the age of seventeen. He is a veteran of the US army where he proudly served for two years.
Sergio was a board member with the Westfield Soccer Association (WSA), where he implemented and ran a soccer program for special needs children for almost 5 years. Sergio and his wife Patty recently relocated to Fort Mill, SC., but resided in Westfield, NJ for over 20 years, where they raised both their daughters; Kathryn, a recent engineering graduate of Duke University and Sophia, a freshman pre-med student at Duke as well.
