Latino Outreach Director | JB For Governor
Yesenia Lopez’s mission is to empower communities and develop opportunities for them to thrive. She believes this is possible by advancing equitable public policies, community organizing and proper government representation.
Yesenia currently serves as the Latino Outreach Director with IL Governor JB Pritzker campaign. She is a graduate from DePaul University, where she studied political science and gender studies. Yesenia became interested in politics and public policy through her upbringing as a first-generation Latina and community organizer in Chicago. Her passion for social justice and civil rights have led her to participate in the CHCI Public Policy Fellowship in 2013-2014.
Prior to joining the JB For Governor campaign, Yesenia advanced public policy strategies, and led legislative initiatives in local government in Illinois. She has also been part of various local and state campaigns in Illinois including Congressman Jesus “Chuy” Garcia’s campaign. In addition, Yesenia serves on numerous boards including appointment to the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation (ILLCF), and Board President of Telpochcalli Community Education Project (Tcep).
Yesenia looks forward to continuing working with diverse stakeholders across the country.
