Angelica Duque (she/her) serves as President of the CHCI-AA DC Metro Chapter. She previously served on the DC Metro Chapter board as Secretary, and has also served on the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA) board as Secretary and Deputy Placement Director. Recently, Angelica started working at the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) as Manager of Government Relations and Alliances. In this role, she leads lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill to advance the policy priorities of over 20,000 ACG members. Prior to joining ACG, she was a federal lead associate at Save the Children US where she helped fund programs that support children and families in need across rural America. Angelica also worked on Capitol Hill for five years and covered a wide-ranging policy portfolio that included health, immigration, education, defense, and judiciary issues.

Angelica is an alumna of three CHCI programs: CHCI-United Health Foundation (UHF) Scholar Intern Program, Summer 2018 Congressional Internship, and Latino Hill Staff Academy. She received her BA in Political Science from the University of Miami and is a first-generation, low-income graduate. She is a proud Colombian-American who hails from New York — and she is grateful to call DC home for the last six years. As President of the CHCI-AA DC Metro Chapter, Angelica is looking forward to building community across generations and states, connecting with emerging alumni, and creating a solid chapter identity.
