Casia Provençal was raised in Denver, Colorado, in a tight-knit family that encouraged her to challenge herself intellectually and think critically about the world around her. Her hardworking parents, supportive family, and experiences as an Afro-Latina woman have deeply shaped her passion for public service and policy.
Now a student at Yale University, Casia is pursuing a degree in Political Science with an interdisciplinary concentration in Moral, Social, and Political Conflict, along with a Spanish Certificate. She is actively involved in several campus organizations, including the Black Student Athlete Coalition and Shades of Yale, both of which support minority communities. Through these groups, she volunteers at schools and community centers, giving back to the local community. Casia is passionate about international relations and human rights and hopes to apply her strong work ethic to higher education and, ultimately, a career in foreign policy that protects and uplifts people of all cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
As a CHCI Intern, she aims to deepen her understanding of U.S. international relations and the legislative processes that shape them. She hopes to leverage this knowledge and experience to advocate for foreign policies that prioritize human rights.
