Lauren Gonzalez-Perez

Lauren Jeanneth Gonzalez-Perez is a rising senior at Math and Science College Preparatory in Los Angeles, California, and a proud first-generation Guatemalan American deeply connected to her Hispanic heritage. Passionate about advocacy, innovation, and public service, she hopes to pursue a future as a patent attorney while majoring in electrical engineering and minoring in psychology. Lauren is the founder of Project Mosaic, a youth-led nonprofit supporting unhoused individuals, immigrant communities, and underserved families through outreach, donation drives, and advocacy initiatives.

She has conducted research on immigration and housing instability through programs such as the Lumiere Research Scholars Program and PIVOT Civic Leadership Academy while also building technical experience in software engineering, AI, and neuroscience. Lauren applied to CHCI NextGen to strengthen her leadership skills, connect with Latino changemakers nationwide, and deepen her understanding of policy and civic engagement to create lasting impact in her community and beyond.
