Christian Ascencio

Christian Ascencio is a proud Mexican-American, born and raised in Riverbank, California. His passion for leadership began early, shaped by his community and the values instilled by his immigrant parents. As a junior at Riverbank High School, he has served three consecutive years as President of the Hispanic Youth Leadership Club and helped establish his city’s inaugural Youth Council, where he serves as a Clerk.

In these roles, he developed strong communication skills, learned to uplift youth voices, and discovered the importance of representation. His participation in local youth ambassadorships and conferences further strengthened his desire to advocate for his Central Valley community. This drive has led him to complete over 500 hours of community service, dedicated to improving his community’s well‑being. Through CHCI NextGen, Christian hopes to expand his perspective on leadership, strengthen his ability to advocate, and learn from leaders who share the same drive to shape policy.
