Alessandra Cicchelli

Alessandra Cicchelli is a rising senior at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Miami, Florida. She is half Mexican-American and half Italian, and speaks both Spanish and Italian at home. She is mainly involved in Achieve Miami, an organization that partners elementary school students with high schoolers to have the children practice their reading level and to provide them with a mentor for any questions or challenges they may have.

She is part of the Junior Advisory Board, helping to coordinate all events, and has raised more than $8000 combined on two separate Give Miami Day committees for the organization. She plays varsity tennis for her school team, and is a chief editor for her school newspaper, The Beat. Alessandra applied to CHCI NextGen because she has a deep interest in public policy, a path she is considering pursuing in college. She would love to better understand how government decisions directly affect Latino and immigrant communities, and wants to learn how she can use her voice to benefit others.
