Alexander Aviles

Alex Aviles is an incoming senior from Portland, Oregon, who is strongly involved in his local government by serving on grant committees to allocate city funding to various nonprofits and is a campaign manager for a city council candidate. As well as serving on a Youth Advisory Council with his congresswoman, he drafted a policy memo that he presented to elected officials. He is also a part of debate, where he competes in policy debate and is third in his state. Alex applied for CHCI NextGen in hopes of collaborating with fellow Latino peers on Capitol Hill and expanding his federal leadership and engagement.
