Alison Sarahi Carranza
Alison Sarahi Carranza is a first-generation student from Los Angeles, California, proudly rooted in her Salvadoran heritage through her immigrant parents. Motivated by the sacrifices her family has made, she aspires to pursue higher education and create meaningful change within her community. She is actively involved in leadership both in and outside of school, serving in High School Council where she helps organize and execute school-wide events.
She also participates in dual enrollment courses, internships, and community advocacy efforts to explore future career pathways. With her passion for immigration activism and equal rights, Alison engages in school initiatives, protests, and community involvement that support underserved communities. Applying to CHCI NextGen represents an important opportunity for her to expand her understanding of U.S. policy, strengthen her leadership skills, and bring valuable knowledge back to the communities she hopes to serve.
