2026 NextGen Latino Leadership Program
Daniel Mejia Perez
Daniel Mejia Perez is a junior at Don Bosco Cristo Rey in Silver Spring, Maryland, and an aspiring immigration lawyer. His path is rooted in his family’s experience with the immigration system. Daniel is pursuing this path through three years of Corporate Work Study placements, including Catholic Charities’ immigration legal services aimed to support immigrants and people of low income, and currently the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. Beyond legal work, Daniel has continued to make change on Capitol Hill.
He previously attended JRS Advocacy Day, where he spoke directly to legislators and their staff regarding the protection of sensitive locations for immigrant communities in the current political climate. Through CHCI NextGen, he hopes to improve his leadership and advocacy skills and connect with others who are committed to making change in their communities.
