Michelle Gallardo

Michelle Gallardo is a first-generation student attending Caruthers High School. She is involved in programs such as the UCSF Fresno Doctors Academy, which exposes students to the health disparities the San Joaquin Valley faces and networks with health workers, aiming to pursue a career in the medical field. She also is involved in Fresno City College’s Upward Bound Math & Science, CSF, and is a student athlete in tennis and golf. Additionally, she volunteers in her school’s food pantry by distributing food and clothing to community members. She aspires to become a Physician through the SJV Prime+ program offered in UC Merced to serve her community. Michelle applied to CHCI NextGen in hopes of connecting with other aspiring Latino leaders, to experience how political processes work, and strengthen her leadership and advocacy skills.
