Shelley Perez-Rubio

Shelley Perez-Rubio is a student leader and community advocate from Laurel, Delaware. As the proud daughter of Mexican and Guatemalan immigrants, she is inspired by her family’s resilience and the opportunities they worked hard to create for her. Passionate about service and education, Shelley strives to give back to her community by mentoring and tutoring students through organizations such as TeenSHARP, Schoolhouse, Apréndalo, and BrandUP.

Through leadership, athletics, and community engagement, she has developed a strong commitment to empowering others, expanding access to educational opportunities, and encouraging young people to pursue ambitious goals. Shelley is especially interested in leadership, public service, and creating opportunities for underserved communities. She is excited to further strengthen her leadership skills through CHCI NextGen and bring what she learns back to her community.
