Xiomara Becerril

Xiomara Becerril is a rising senior at John Hancock College Prep, located in Chicago, Illinois, who is passionate about civic engagement, social justice and strives to make the world a better place. As a former youth leader at her local park district, she empowered young people through leadership and helped create an inclusive and welcoming environment. Dedicated to serving others, she has volunteered at food banks, blood drives, community cleanups, and much more.

She has also served as an election judge, strengthening her commitment to civic participation and community engagement. Through these experiences, Xiomara has developed a strong dedication to equity, inclusion and diversity, inspiring her to pursue a career focused on public service. She intends to major in political science to become a civil rights lawyer, advocating for underrepresented communities. Through CHCI NextGen, she hopes to deepen her leadership, connect with policymakers and advocate for her community back home.
