Sofia Molina

Sofia Molina is a first-generation Latina student from Union City, New Jersey, with a strong commitment to civic engagement and advocacy for underserved communities. As Founder and Executive Director of Civic Roots, she supports individuals by guiding them through essential paperwork processes to help ensure they are informed and able to fully access available opportunities. She also leads the Spanish Honor Society, representing over 100 students across two high schools and fostering spaces that celebrate cultural identity.

Through independent research on microplastics in beverages and psychological studies on negativity bias, she has presented findings to raise awareness of both physical and mental health impacts. She has advocated at the state capitol to expand AP access and advance student equity. Guided by a belief that access to opportunity should not depend on language, she aspires to pursue international relations and politics on a pre-law track toward human rights and international law.
