Valeria Leyva

Valeria Leyva is a first-generation daughter of two immigrant parents who raised her in Dallas, Texas alongside both her brother and sister. She is involved in school, being in Varsity Volleyball and Cheer alongside helping manage other teams. Additionally, she is also heavily involved in fundraisers for food pantries, wanting to help out her fellow Hispanic community and make a difference.

Also, she flourishes in fast-paced settings, which she proudly received from her student internship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Applying to CHCI NextGen, Valeria wants to open her doors to new opportunities in which she could enforce in her future. She wants to become someone her peers could go to and prove to others that your roots don’t define who you are but definitely shape the person you become.
