SAN ANTONIO CHAPTER
ADRIANA SALAZAR
Current Position/Organization
President
Adriana Salazar is a native San Antonian. She has spent the last six years in the private sector as a Senior Program Manager to one of India’s leading global IT Services companies. Her projects have ranged from Offshore Business Operations (in India and Mexico), relationship building and Service Level Agreements between client and vendor, and Risk and Compliance support for IT departments. Prior to her private sector pivot, Adriana spent 15 years in the Texas healthcare industry. Her experience ranged from contract management, finance/budget, policy analysis, and community-based services.
Adriana is an alumnus of the CHCI Graduate Public Policy Fellowship, 2006-2007. She divided her fellowship between the National Hispanic Council on Aging and Congressman Charlie Gonzalez (TX-20).
Her motivation to help found the SATX CHCI-AA Chapter is to pay it forward. Adriana strongly believes it is easier for our youth to “Be What You See.” As a first-generation U.S. born, firstgeneration college graduate (BA and MA) to Mexican immigrants, with a middle-school education, she understands the struggles of maneuvering a system without guidance. Adriana wants to serve as a local contact for her community to highlight the great opportunities CHCI offers. Also, she is motivated to establish a local support system for professionals who are the “1st in my family” as they maneuver an ecosystem foreign to the working-class dinner table discussions. Outside of work and CHCI activities, Adriana enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to a native-born India citizen. They have a 5-year-old daughter who is working on being trilingual (English, Spanish, and Tamil).
