Brian Garcia serves as Communications Director for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus – the 42-Member strong Caucus dedicated to voicing and advancing, through the legislative process, issues affecting Hispanics in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. He became a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) alumni after completing the CHCI’s inaugural Latino Hill Staff Academy course.

He previously served as Congressman Juan Vargas’ (CA-52) Communications Director. With both on-the-record and off-the-record experience, he specializes in amplifying Members’ work and priorities through leveraging media relationships and the use of communication tools. Previously he served as Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia’s (TX-29) Press Secretary.

Prior to earning a senior staff role on Capitol Hill, he was the Communications Director for Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw for more than two years. On the county level, he directed a press shop that regularly punched above its weight – landing press hits with The Washington Post, The Hill, and more.

Brian got his start on Capitol Hill as Staff/Press Assistant for Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia following a successful internship in the 116th Congress. He first began his Congressional career in early 2019 by interning for Congressman Gerry Connolly’s (VA-11) District Office. Brian studied at George Mason University.
