CHCI Symposium on Energy, Infrastructure, and Sustainability!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the 2024 CHCI Symposium on Energy, Infrastructure, and Sustainability! We convened nearly 200 cross-sector leaders, including Members of Congress and other public officials, corporate executives, industry experts, and community advocates for insightful presentations and solution-based exchanges. 

Attendees participated in discussions centered on the transformative impact of federal investments through legislation such as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), strategies for enhancing grid resilience and fostering a clean energy transition, the economic and social implications of infrastructure development on communities nationwide, and more.

The morning started with a networking breakfast for attendees to engage across the CHCI network. During the opening session, “Innovations in Energy, Infrastructure, and Sustainability: Transforming Consumer Products and Building a Resilient Future,” leaders from across sectors highlighted the transformative potential of recent federal investments aimed at building a resilient and sustainable economy.

In the session that followed, “Clean Energy Transition: Challenges and Opportunities for Communities and Industries,” industry experts discussed workforce development for the green economy, the role of clean energy tax credits, innovation in sustainable transportation, and strategies to create new jobs while supporting local economies.

In the closing session, “Balancing Power Demand, Energy Transition, and Affordability: The Future of Oil, Gas, and Transportation,” panelists explored the complexities of managing increasing energy demands, focusing on the reliability of power generation and the impact of rising energy prices on low-and-moderate income communities. 

The event wrapped up with a to-go lunch that allowed participants to network and connect with industry experts.
